Accomodation
There are a huge range of places to stay in Nafplio to suit all budgets. In peak season I would recommend booking in advance.
Affordable Small Hotels The exclusive but a bit ugly Nafplia Palace Hotel Aetoma Boutique Hotel
On our first visit, we stayed at the wonderful The Aetoma Hotel which gets great reviews everywhere. We loved it so much we have not stayed anywhere else since. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the breakfast is wonderful.
View from Aetoma Aetoma lobby.
It is worth the little extra expense we think and you are guaranteed a personal and warm welcome. Leashia had tears in her eyes when we had to leave last time [so did I].
Wining

There are plenty of taverna’s and cafe’s to choose from. Leashia and I like to sit in the main square people watching as the sun sets and have a drinky [or two] before heading out for dinner. There are more options by the port away from the main square.

Dining
We have had many evening meals in Nafplio and enjoyed every one. Our favrit places include- Vassilis, Ta Fanaria, Aiolos and Kastro – Karima in the old town and Pidalio on the main road just outside of the old town. To be honest it’s hard to go wrong, just take your pick. It’s lovely to eat outside in a small street soaking in the atmosphere.
Oh, and there are also loads of places to get ice cream!
