We ate really well in Kiev. There are plenty of restaurants to suit most tastes. Ukrainian and Georgian food is not just about dumplings and pancakes and pickles, [well there is a lot of that] but there are also wonderful soups [not just Borscht], stews, fish and meat [and dessert] dishes at a fraction of the cost one would expect if you are from the UK. We tended to book restaurants in advance on the internet which worked well.
Stuffed aubergines, peppers and courgettes Cheeses. Lentil soup
If you like red wine do try Georgian and Ukrainian wines. We were very impressed.

Two restaurants that we really enjoyed were: Kanapa and Musafir Teatralna. [book both in advance].
The menu’s in Kiev were diverse and interesting. There was plenty of choice when it came to lard and testicles !

Some of the puddings on offer were rather yummy.
