View of Krakow from Wawel Hill

Four nights in Krakow in 2014 only cost us about £150.00 per person including return flights and decent accomomodation. I love a bargain. Krakow is a great city. Food and accommodation is very reasonable which is an added bonus.

The UNESCO listed Old Town [Stare Miasto] with its Medieval Origins and the Jewish Quarter [Kazimierz] has some amazing sights. Wawel Castle and Cathedral on the hill has a history that goes back even further. The former ghetto in the suburb of Podgorze is where you will find Oskar Schindler’s Factory.

Krakow is also the perfect base for excursions to Auschwitz and the Salt Mines as well as the Tatras Mountains.

It is easy to get to Krakow from the airport by shuttle bus or taxi, you can book them online in advance. It is a compact city for the tourist and you can walk to most of the major attractions. We did hop on to a tram to get to Podgorze though as it is further away from the centre.
