Globus shopping Mall under Independance Square

I did not go to Kiev to go shopping, but the Malls I discovered were great. They are often underground and spacious with a range of famous Western brands as well as small and large outlets that were new to me. The small shops underground by the Metro stations are also interesting as are supermarkets which are good value, [best not to linger at the fish counter with the live fish gasping for air in a grubby tank].

Bessarabskyi Market is amazing offering a wide range of meat, fish, vegetables, flowers and herbs at bargain prices. But do haggle – it’s all very friendly and fun and part of the experience.
