Chlemoustsi is a Frankish Castle dating from the 13th century and is to be found on the top of a hill to the south of Kyllini on the North west coast of the Peloponnese. It’s in the middle of nowhere but is worth a detour and the modest entry fee. There were more staff than visitors when we were there.

Hexagonal in structure, the walls of the castle are imposing and can be seen for miles around. It has been recently partially renovated and there are several halls including a massive banqueting room, a throne room and kitchens to view as well rooms with interesting themed displays and medeival pottery.
